World Cup 2026 format
The tournament uses 12 groups of 4. Top two from each group plus the 8 best third-place teams advance to the Round of 32.

Each team plays 3 matches. Ranking follows standard points and tiebreakers (see rules page).
Who advances
24 teams qualify directly (1st and 2nd). The 8 best third-place teams fill the remaining Round of 32 spots.
